Off-roading in Exmoor!   Each year around March, up to 60 4x4 decend upon Exmoor to take part in the Exmoor Jaunt or challenge. Participants navigate routes in teams of 3 vehicles with the minimum of one driver and one navigator per vehicle. Some vehicles were filled with spectators and a fantastic time was had by all! It is the one chance every year to drive off-road in Exmoor as at other times it is closed to off-road use. It is not just a chance to get muddy in Exmoor though... The whole event is in aid of Wodden Spoon - Rugby’s charity for disadvantaged children. In 2011 we raised over £14,000. Are you up for it? The Jaunt The Jaunt is made up of a number of off road sections of varying difficulties and is suitable for families, people of all skill ranges and most types of 4x4. Children in road legal seats with seatbelts are more than welcome to take part in the Jaunt. There is nothing too challenging in the Jaunt, but some slightly challenging bits have been added to ensure some excitement! There will be a maximum of 36 vehicles on the Jaunt and spaces will fill up quickly, so if you are interested, register without delay! The Challenge The Challenge is more demanding than the Jaunt, therefore reasonable skills and a suitable vehicle are necessary. Each team of three vehicles will need at least one winch. Over 12's only. Due to the nature of the Challenge, some light scratching or damage is possible - please do not enter the Challenge if this is a problem. There will be a maximum of 24 vehicles on the Challenge and spaces will fill quickly, so don't delay - register straight away!
